Moving into 2024, the Ministry of Economy Malaysia has further enhanced policies by initiating KL20, aimed at establishing Malaysia as one of the top 20 global startup hubs by 2030. These policies are crucial, signifying Malaysia's commitment to becoming a center for product innovation and preparing the country as a Go-to-Market hub, equipped with essential resources such as talent, funding, and a conducive market environment.
While the government implements various policy interventions, agencies under them are actively executing strategies. Cyberview, for instance, is making Cyberjaya more vibrant, not only for technology companies but also for the broader community. Beyond providing sandboxes for technology experimentation, such as autonomous vehicles, electric vehicles, and drones, the increasing traffic in Cyberjaya is evidence of its emergence as a livable city for Malaysians. Despite undergoing multiple transformations from MaGIC to MRANTI, Technology Innovation Park Malaysia (TiPM) remains committed to advancing the innovation agenda nationwide. With multiple sandboxes and the recent launch of the Kuala Lumpur Innovation Belt, TPiM aims to empower startups and investors by fostering collaboration, innovation, and growth, enabling them to thrive.
Cradle, through its regional startup initiative MyStartup, is intensifying efforts in the startup ecosystem. The recent launch of “Single Window” aims to foster collaboration, innovation, and global reach by providing organised information to founders, investors, and tech talent. Collaborations with state-level players, such as SCEIC from Sabah, TEGAS from Sarawak, Digital Penang, and Selangor Information Technology & Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec), further strengthen the startup ecosystem across Malaysia.
