KL20 Action Paper: Scaling Malaysian Startup Ecosystem Regionally.

Aiming to be in the top 20 global startup hub list, Malaysia is strategically initiating its opening move with the launch of the KL20 Action Paper, which will outline 20 transformative initiatives to reinvigorate Malaysia’s startup ecosystem in a more regional role. The launch will be done by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, in conjunction with KL20 which will be held on the 22nd-23rd of April 2024 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

Key policy makers,  Rafizi Ramli, the Minister of Economy Malaysia,  Chang Lih Kang, the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Malaysia, and also Gobind Singh, the Minister of Digital, Malaysia aim to bring together startup ecosystem players; investors, founders, community builders, agencies and corporates, to meet, discuss, network and align on the same page with the nation’s interest in being in the business of technology. KL20 will bring in more than 50 expert speakers, significant marquee initiative launches, with  local and international investors, founders, startups and sovereign wealth funds across the globe.

With speakers from Khazanah Malaysia; the nation’s sovereign wealth fund, KWAP; the nation’s public pension fund, Bank Negara; the nation’s central bank, and also prolific Venture Capital (V.C)  firm and investors in the region such as Granite Asia, GSR Ventures, K3 Ventures, Plug and Play, AntlerOpenspace Ventures and Cradle; the agency that oversee the MyStartup initiative in Malaysia, KL20 is serious in catalyzing the development of high value startups, attracting high ticket investors, supplying industry ready talents and providing high paying jobs. This will ultimately elevate Malaysia’s economy to be the region’s economic powerhouse and evolve the nation’s development to a new level.
