In 2018, a group of young and ambitious recently ex university students suddenly say We want to help 213 million youths across South East Asia to follow their passion. Its not an impossible task, at least for us. We have been chasing our dream since day one. Not that we have achieved our dream, nor we are an expert in dream chasing. We just know that if you do it alone, its depressing. Why not do it together, at least we have each other. Imagine being in a community of passionate people who help each other out in achieving their dream, wont the world be a better place for you? At least for us it will, hence why we created Youth Ventures to host that community.
Our first decision when we decided to start this journey was moving to Cyberjaya, the technology hub of Malaysia. Cyberjaya is many things, but what differentiate Cyberjaya from other cities is that they are ready for change. Being ready to be different is in Cyberjaya's DNA, and we want to rub that culture on our youths. We help our youths grow not just by helping learn digital skills, discover technology centric industries or gain work relevant experience. We also connect them to their community, bringing positive changes and impact to the society. Despite the pandemic, the youths in Cyberjaya is more engaged to the community compared to before we came in. Initiatives for the community have increased and all of it is designed and delivered by passionate youths. Today, we are not just building Youth Centric city in Cyberjaya, have also started developing our presence in Johor.
The biggest fallacy of formal education is you cant follow your passion while completing your degree. It doesn't even relate. Being ready to join the industry and finding fulfilment in life is two different thing, but doesn't meant that you can't do both at the same time! Before we graduate, we would spend our time volunteering across Malaysia, building companies, joining programs and doing thing that have a positive impact to us and the people around us. The experience was lifechanging because we got a chance to see different point of views, and it turn us into a better person. Sadly, not all of our friends had similar experience. Most use their University life as one of the walls that is stopping them from being their true self. Well, we are here to help you break that wall, and turn it into a foundation to grow your potential.
What we realize after helping more than 5000 public and private university students, was there was so much potential to be tapped but opportunities are scares. Being very close to the industry, we know that they really want to utilize the talent that our youths got to offer. Their problem is they don't know how to reach out to them. We decided to solve this problem. What if passionate youths use their skills that they have to solve the industry's problem. Our partners reach out to us to gain brand awareness, create initiatives or manage programs, and we will curate all those opportunities to high skilled youths selected by us. With us, youths will not just learn, they will use what they learn to gain experience and other benefits. As for our partners, they will get a chance to experience our youths, and maybe scout for some talents.
We are not just another training/event company. We use data to elevate the experience for both youths and our partners. We will find out what skills do our youth have, what is their passion, their talent and their goals. This is because we know all youths are unique, hence why we want to curate the best programs for different individuals. For our partners, we will share insights about them, and how they can help them beyond their touchpoint. We use technology to make decision making more efficient. At Youth Ventures Asia, we believe that there is no point of putting a Whale in an aquarium, our job is to let them swim in the vast sea and tell people how great they are!
